2008

Every year, the Gold medals for the Concours Général Agricole (General Agricultural Competition) organised by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fishing reward the best French wines. On February 23rd last year, the Domaine of Saint-Ser was particularly succesful in Paris. Indeed, the Blanc Prestige 2007 was awarded a Gold medal, while the Rosé Prestige of the same year was awarded a gold and a silver medal. The oenologists who crowned these two wines highlighted both their deliciously fruity character and their subtle aromatic complexity.

The 2008 Trade Shows
Flying start on the international stage. After the PRODEXPO trade show in Moscow and VINISUD in Montpellier in February, March saw our wines journey to the PROWEIN trade show in DÜSSELDORF. These stages outside Provence, native soil of Rosé, are an opportunity to introduce foreign professionals to the specificities of our Rosé de Provence. Adorned with the medal they won at the Concours Général Agricole (General Agricultural Competition) in Paris, our Rosé Prestige and Blanc Prestige from 2007 made a good impression. A beautiful year for our domaine, true ambassador of wines from Provence, and the journey is only beginning.

April 2008
This is not a dream, the Rosé Prestige from the Domaine of Saint-Ser is not an early wine, quite the opposite. Cultivated on an argilo-calcareous soil, the Rosé Prestige only reveals its most remarkable flavours after an extensive maturing period. Characterized by a bright and crystalline robe of a beautiful pink, it reveals complex flavours of citrus fruits and white peach. With its delicate and intense nose, while full-bodied and fresh in the mouth, the Rosé Prestige 2007 is a rich wine, typical of its appellation and terroir. After the success of the 2006 vintage, which was rewarded by a gold medal in Macon, the 2007 vintage was awarded a gold and a silver medal at the Concours Général Agricole (General Agricultural Competition) in Paris and will gain in renown.

April 2008
The Domaine of Saint-Ser, nestled in its green setting, at the foot of the magnificent Mount Sainte-Victoire celebrates the first anniversary of the Jardin des Cépages (Garden of Grape Varieties). Now open to the public, this natural gallery presents 19 Mediterranean grape varieties. Guided by a herbarium, discover the various shapes and colours of vine leaves through an educational journey designed for the pleasure of the whole family. And to finish this initiation with a flourish, enjoy a glass of the authentic Rosé de Provence at the domaine.[/lang_en]

Exhibition from March 20 till April 20, 2008

The 2008 Provence edition of the Printemps des Poètes (Springtime for poets) reveals its finest at the foot of Mount Sainte-Victoire until April 20, 2008. The Domaine of Saint Ser welcomes the public to its green setting, in Puyloubier, for an artistic journey rich in experiences, at the very heart of the vineyard. Glass in hand, come and discover Anne Slacik’s works in an exhibition that will take you to the extremes of colours and senses. Wonderment guaranteed!

April 2008
The domaine is preparing to go through the bud pruning period. In March, after an extensive winter slumber, pruning signals the awakening of the vineyard. At the beginning of April, buds appear in the open air. The first leaves and bunches soon follow, until June, when flowering begins. The vegetative cycle is a key stage in the reproduction of grapes.

Eté-Automne 2007
La montagne Sainte-Victoire est depuis bien longtemps un haut lieu de l’art pictural. Le Domaine de Saint-Ser perpétue cette belle tradition en accueillant des artistes qui viennent s’imprégner quelques temps de la beauté du paysage. Ils (et elles) exposent sur place les œuvres créées durant leur séjour sur le thème du “point du jour”, qu’il s’agisse de peintures, sculptures, photographies…

En septembre, nous avons accueilli François MECHAIN qui s’est imprégné du site de la Sainte-Victoire pour nourrir son élan créatif.

2007
Le jury du 53e Concours des Grands Vins de France à Mâcon, de renommée internationale et l’une des manifestations les plus anciennes et plus prisées, vient de récompenser notre Domaine pour cet excellent millésime du Prestige Rosé 2006.
Dans sa robe rose, discrète et fine, il est entièrement porté sur le fruit avec ses arômes de nectarines et de pêches au nez, et de fruits rouges en bouche.

Merveilleuse récompense également que la Médaille d’or du Concours des Vins de Provence qui a honoré notre Prestige Rosé le 15 avril dernier à Brignoles.

A signaler aussi notre Prestige Blanc 2006 qui vient d’obtenir la Médaille d’Argent au XVIIIe concours des vignerons indépendants.

2007
Nous sommes particulièrement fiers de cette cuvée 2004 de notre Prestige Rouge, très arômatique au nez de fruits rouges très mûrs, cerise et griotte, à la bouche ample et ronde, aux tanins fondus. Il s’agit là d’un parfait équilibre entre rondeur et vivacité. Un ensemble séduisant augurant d’une garde d’une dizaine d’années.
