Travaux de saison dans le vignoble de Saint-Ser : la Taille de la Vigne
Essentielle pour une production de qualité, la taille intervient l’hiver, en période de repos végétatif quand la vigne a perdu toutes ses feuilles. C’est une opération très technique nécessitant de bonnes connaissances et une réflexion sur le développement de chaque pied de vigne avant toute intervention. La taille joue un rôle décisif sur le nombre de grappes par pied et donc sur le rendement à l’hectare.

Venez nous retrouver à VINISUD Montpellier du 22 au 24 février pour déguster nos dernières cuvées, dont le rosé 2008 Médaille d’Or au « Mondial du Rosé 2009 ». Nous vous attendrons dans le hall 5, stand B 27.

A feast for the senses at the Domaine de Saint Ser, which is welcoming Pierre Alexandre Rémy to its lusciously verdant setting as part of the Picasso-Cézanne 2009 season. At our vineyard, the sculptor is preparing a monumental work which will be exhibited at Avenue Max Juvénal in Aix-en-Provence from 25 May to 27 September. An opportunity for this master of steel, plastic, aluminium and elastomers to create a dialogue between industrial materials and the magnificent natural landscape of Provence. A dialogue which will surely give birth to a masterpiece.

Ainsi au domaine de Saint-Ser o’u Jacqueline Guichot a ouvert ses portes à deux artistes : le prolixe Martin Caminiti présent en fait sur deux sites avec ses “dessins dans l’espace” et la japonaise Sumiko Kaï, qu’elle a hébergée.
Martin, entre Duchamp et Brancusi, est en situation avec ses objets sculptés dans la cour ou au loin, dans les restanques : “Il fait le lien entre les vignes, les oliviers et la montagne”. Sumiko signe elle le travail typiquement oriental sur la trace et le temps qui fuit, avec compositions de fleurs coupées et séchées, traces photographiques et pieds sculptés en émail.
Un accueil paraît-il sur mesure. “Votre association donne envie de travailler en ce sens”, justifie Mme Guichot tout sourire à Bernadette Clot-Goudart. Proximité et complicité en sont les deux maîtres-mots : “Il faut faire en sorte que les gens se mettent à comprendre l’art contemporain”

2008

Every year, the Gold medals for the Concours Général Agricole (General Agricultural Competition) organised by the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fishing reward the best French wines. On February 23rd last year, the Domaine of Saint-Ser was particularly succesful in Paris. Indeed, the Blanc Prestige 2007 was awarded a Gold medal, while the Rosé Prestige of the same year was awarded a gold and a silver medal. The oenologists who crowned these two wines highlighted both their deliciously fruity character and their subtle aromatic complexity.

The 2008 Trade Shows
Flying start on the international stage. After the PRODEXPO trade show in Moscow and VINISUD in Montpellier in February, March saw our wines journey to the PROWEIN trade show in DÜSSELDORF. These stages outside Provence, native soil of Rosé, are an opportunity to introduce foreign professionals to the specificities of our Rosé de Provence. Adorned with the medal they won at the Concours Général Agricole (General Agricultural Competition) in Paris, our Rosé Prestige and Blanc Prestige from 2007 made a good impression. A beautiful year for our domaine, true ambassador of wines from Provence, and the journey is only beginning.

This is not a dream, the Rosé Prestige from the Domaine of Saint-Ser is not an early wine, quite the opposite. Cultivated on an argilo-calcareous soil, the Rosé Prestige only reveals its most remarkable flavours after an extensive maturing period. Characterized by a bright and crystalline robe of a beautiful pink, it reveals complex flavours of citrus fruits and white peach. With its delicate and intense nose, while full-bodied and fresh in the mouth, the Rosé Prestige 2007 is a rich wine, typical of its appellation and terroir. After the success of the 2006 vintage, which was rewarded by a gold medal in Macon, the 2007 vintage was awarded a gold and a silver medal at the Concours Général Agricole (General Agricultural Competition) in Paris and will gain in renown.

April 2008
The Domaine of Saint-Ser, nestled in its green setting, at the foot of the magnificent Mount Sainte-Victoire celebrates the first anniversary of the Jardin des Cépages (Garden of Grape Varieties). Now open to the public, this natural gallery presents 19 Mediterranean grape varieties. Guided by a herbarium, discover the various shapes and colours of vine leaves through an educational journey designed for the pleasure of the whole family. And to finish this initiation with a flourish, enjoy a glass of the authentic Rosé de Provence at the domaine.[/lang_en]
